Fundraising Purposes

The fund raised in Raleigh Challenge - Wilson Trail 2011 will be used in the following ways:

Local Voluntary Services

Organize and participate in local community services such as Reef Check and Marine Park Cleanup organized by Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, adventure weekends for deprived youth, city orienteering activities, "City Chaser" for low-income families, renovation of village schools, volunteers for Matilda Sedan Chair, etc.

Overseas Voluntary Services

Venturers from Hong Kong will take part in 4- to 10-week overseas voluntary services and adventure projects. Through completing sustainable projects in remote areas with participants from different countries, races and backgrounds under limited resources and time, the venturers have the opportunities to explore the world as well as themselves.

Servicing regions include:

  • Overseas ventures: Costa Rica, Nicaragua, India, Malaysia (Sabah)
  • Mainland China projects: Lingnan, Gong Shan in Northern Guangdong, Sichuan

Projects include:

  • Community
  • Environmental Conservation & Scientific Researches
  • Adventure Projects

# To be eligible to compete for Student Cup, the whole team must be full-time students.

Minimum Donation

Regular Team Member HK$800 per Team Member
Full-time Student HK$400 per Team Member
Corporate Team Member HK$6,000 per Team

Electronic Record Card Deposit

Electronic Record Card (ERC) will be used as a registration device at each check point in the event. Each team must submit a HK$200 separate crossed-cheque as the ERC deposit for application.  Otherwise it will be considered as incomplete application. The deposit cheque will be refunded upon return of the assigned non-defective ERC to the Organizer at the Finish Point.

Outstanding Fundraising Award

There are Outstanding Fundraising Awards - Gold, Silver and Bronze. Souvenirs will be presented to those teams which meet an average fundraising amount per member as listed below. The deadline for calculating the amount donated for the awards is 18 November 2011 (postmarked). Prize collection details will be informed via email individually.
