In addition to our annual fund-raising events, our selected venturers will launch some meaningful fund-raising events which are not only a test of their creativities but also their organizing abilities.

Raleigh Challenge - Cycling to China (24 - 26 August 2007)

A 3-day cycling challenge from Hong Kong to Tai Shan, Guangdong Province. With great assistant from Hong Kong Cylcing and Travel Association, 15 participants had pushed their physical, endurance to the limit, and completed the 190km long trip with cooperation between the team-mates.

“ Why cycling?” You may wonder. “It was all because no one had done this before, I think I can do it,” said Ivy Lam, the organizer of the event. “There had been loneliness and helpless period in the process, but what we gained was not only a challenge. Participants from different generations had become friends, and the sharing between work, life and experience were invaluable.”

“Raleigh Challenge - Cycling to China” was a combination of innovative, challenge, persistent, confident, leadership and team-spirit. While THESE are Raleigh , the spirits of Raleigh .

Trout - Christimas Charity Music Show 2008 (13 December 2008)

The event was held on 13 December 2008 successfully at Tsim Sha Tsui - Avenue of Stars. All the donation of this show is to support Raleigh venturers to go on expedition for voluntary works. With only a HKD10 donation, donor can have their signature on a Tee. The Tee will be worn by ventueres who are going to Costa Rica for expedition later, which means the donors ('names) will be brought to Costa Rica.

The fund that raised was not the main benefit of this event. It is the attitude of "Try It Out" that is beneficial to the venturers who organized this event.

As one of the organizers Gloria Lau said "To me, the preparation process of this event is not only a journey of growth, but also a wonderful life experience. It is very happy to receive so many supports from friends. Actually, if you try, no matter what the outcome will be, you will gain something that cannot be bought."
